About
Te Wero Gymnastics, based in Christchurch, is all about sharing the love of gymnastics with kids of all ages and abilities. Their goal? To help athletes tackle challenges, build skills, achieve personal bests, and have heaps of fun along the way. The cool thing is, the stuff you learn at Te Wero can be used in everyday life too.
Take pride in their stars: Jun McDonald is off to the 2023 World Cup with the NZ WAG team, and Toreth Wongeoon is the 2023 Nationals STEP 5 Unders champ. It shows just how good the coaching and support at Te Wero is.
Located at 118a Shortland Street, Wainoni, Christchurch, Te Wero Gymnastics has a variety of classes for all ages and skill levels. They’ve got preschool classes, recreational classes, adult classes, and even competitive programmes. For the littlies aged 18 months to 4 years, parents join in the fun to help build confidence and social skills through playful sessions.
Kyleab Ellis, a former NZ men's gymnastics team member, leads the preschool classes. He’s passionate about making gymnastics a safe, fun adventure for young kids.
There are also classes for four-year-olds where parents watch from the sidelines, letting kids gain independence and get ready for the next gymnastics stage.
When signing up at Te Wero, spots in classes are confirmed once the invoice is paid. If a class is full, kids get on a waitlist and are slotted in as spots open up. Fees are non-refundable after the third week of each term, ensuring everyone stays committed.
Te Wero Gymnastics is all about fun, empowerment, and safety. They’re dedicated to helping athletes grow, achieve their best, and develop a lasting passion for gymnastics.
