Te Marua Golf Club, right in Upper Hutt, is your spot for great golf alongside the river. Bev and the team have it set up for a solid game, whether you're a member or just visiting.
There’s something for everyone at Te Marua. Sundays are “Club Day” for members until around 1 pm. Men’s Midweek is on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with sign-up at 9 am for a 9:30 start. Women take over on Wednesdays. Saturdays are action-packed with corporate or social tournaments and Inter-club competitions from the Wellington region.
The 18-hole course has four options for all skill levels: Blue (5914m, par 71), White (5570m, par 71), Yellow (5049m, par 73), and Purple (3954m, par 71).
Costs are pretty reasonable. Before 4 pm, it’s $45 for adults and $20 for juniors for 9 or 18 holes. After 4 pm, juniors can play for $10. Nine holes cost $20 for adults and $15 for juniors.
Heads up on some key dates: From January 7th to 13th, 2024, parts of the course will be reserved for the NZ Māori Tournament. General members can still play early on the 7th, and Interclub Teams can practice on the 13th.
Need a break? The Ambrose Café, run by Bev, is on the course but will be closed until January 4th. Motorised carts are available to hire too, but check first with the Shop at (04)526-7020.
