Jill's Swim School, located at 2 Cobham Place in Masterton, New Zealand, has been a trusted and reputable provider of swimming instruction for over 50 years. Our dedicated and experienced instructors offer structured lessons for babies, preschoolers, school-aged children, and adults, ensuring that everyone can progress through the levels and acquire important life skills along the way.
For babies aged 5 months to 2 years, our baby classes focus on building water confidence and introducing basic skills. We teach parents the correct technique for submerging their babies and aim to develop confident “water babies”. These classes are 20 minutes long, with a maximum of 6 pupils per class. As babies progress, they will learn to retrieve objects underwater, perform sitting dives, and float with the assistance of their coach or parent.
Our pre-school classes, designed for children aged 2 to 5 years, emphasise the importance of early childhood aquatics. In a fun and engaging environment, children will learn stroke skills and develop a respect for the water. Classes have a maximum of 3 pupils per group. Beginners will focus on gaining confidence and developing floating skills, while advanced beginners will work on submerging their faces and back floats.
As children advance to the Arm Stroker level, they will continue to improve their floating skills, transitioning from armbands to independent swimming.
At Jill's Swim School, we understand that learning to swim is an ongoing journey. Once swimmers have mastered the Learn To Swim programme, they can join the Aquajets Swim Club to further enhance their fitness and technique. Our instructors have the expertise and knowledge to help swimmers reach their full potential.
We also offer holiday courses throughout the year, providing intensive swimming lessons during school breaks. These courses are a great way for swimmers to consolidate their skills and progress more rapidly.
