Nestled within the Taunton Vale Sports Club grounds off Greenway Road, the club is home to three full lawns perfect for both competitive and social play.

Sue Baker, the Club Chairman, wants to assure everyone that whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, Taunton Deane Croquet Club caters to all abilities. The club offers excellent coaching for new members, helping them improve their skills and fully enjoy the game.

The club features Association, Golf, and Short croquet variations and holds competitions from early April to late September. These events are open to all members, and relaxed social games are also encouraged.

Members enjoy social membership at Taunton Vale Sports Club, which grants access to the main venue building. The club itself boasts a clubhouse with kitchen facilities, a hired toilet, and an adjacent parking area.

According to Secretary Beverley Tapper, coaching is readily available, and regular lessons are organised to help new members feel at home. The dedicated coaches ensure personalised guidance to boost your skills and confidence.

The club utilises an online system for lawn bookings and keeps members up-to-date with Match News and Competitions sections on the website. Beginners can also benefit from club-provided mallets, balls, and hoops. Experienced members are always ready to show you the ropes, and don’t forget to wear flat-soled shoes to protect the lawns.

Treasurer Kay Daniels highlights the committee’s dedicated work to ensure the club runs smoothly and members' satisfaction. The 2023 committee and officers are passionate croquet enthusiasts committed to this goal.

To visit the club, head to Taunton Vale Sports Club off Greenway Road. Turn off Greenway Road onto Gipsy Lane, follow it to the end gate, then turn right through the first car park. A small tarmac road will lead you directly to the croquet lawns.
