TATA Table Tennis Club

TATA Table Tennis Club is a renowned table tennis club located in Port Talbot, affiliated with the Swansea & District Table Tennis League, Table Tennis Wales, and the Glamorgan Table Tennis Association. The club was designed by Stan Eastwood specifically for the Swansea Table Tennis League and offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for players of all ages and skill levels.

The club prides itself on its strong league affiliation, regularly participating in league matches and competitions. TATA Table Tennis Club has produced several impressive results, with Divisional Winners such as Penyrheol A in the premier Division and Penlan 'C' in the First Division. The club has also celebrated the promotion of teams like Penlan C and Penlan D to the top Division for the upcoming season. While there have been relegations for Port Talbot Gas 'B' and Cam Gears 'B' to the First Division for the next season, the club continues to support all its members in their table tennis journey.

TATA Table Tennis Club has also seen success outside the league, with members achieving medals at events like the Welsh Closed competition. Prominent members such as Lara Whitton, Harri Docherty, Catherine Jones, and Laura have taken home various medals, showcasing the club's dedication to nurturing talent and fostering a competitive spirit.

The club has faced challenges due to COVID-19 restrictions, with recent regulations limiting group sizes to 30 individuals. However, efforts have been made to adjust to these restrictions and continue providing opportunities for members to play and compete. Matches have been rearranged within club venues, and the premier Division has been particularly impacted. Despite these obstacles, the club remains committed to ensuring that all members can enjoy the sport and maintain their progress.

During the Christmas and New Year break, league matches are temporarily suspended, allowing members to enjoy the holiday season with their loved ones. The club's chairman and management committee extend warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday, emphasising the importance of staying safe during the festivities.
