Conveniently located just a three-minute walk from Crossharbour DLR station, Tango E14 is easy to get to. For those who prefer to drive, the school also offers ample parking space.
Every Saturday afternoon, Tango E14 hosts a regular class and milonga. These events provide a great opportunity for tango enthusiasts to learn and practise their moves in a supportive and inclusive environment. Additionally, Tango E14 also hosts special events and welcomes guest teachers. To stay up to date with the latest events, guests can check the school's calendar or the latest news and guest teacher's posts on social media.
For example, on December 9th, 2023, Tango E14 will offer a class on understanding and utilising axes for decorations. Axes, in this context, refers to the plural of 'axis,' and participants will learn how to find their own axis and incorporate it into their dance. This class is not about chopping or cutting anyone with an axe but rather focuses on fundamental concepts of movement and balance. Another upcoming class on January 6th, 2024, will cover stops or paradas, pirouettes, and calecitas (carousels) to help dancers find their tango mojo.
Tango E14 is also known for its special events, such as the annual Christmas party and milonga. In these events, guests can enjoy the expertise of world-acclaimed guest teachers, dancers, and DJs. For example, on December 16th, 2023, special guest teacher Hernan Brusa will be teaching a class on playfulness in milonga. His warmth, playfulness, and detailed knowledge promise to make this event unforgettable.
Beyond the dance floor, Tango E14 also offers articles and resources to deepen dancers' understanding of Tango's rich history and culture. For instance, recent articles have explored topics such as when tango was illegal and recommended tango leaders to listen to and study. These resources provide valuable insights into the complex and diverse world of Tango.
At Tango E14, dancers can also expect to receive guidance on basic tango techniques and foundations. Classes often cover topics such as hip disassociation, ochos, walking, and embrace. Through exercises and open-floor sessions, participants have the opportunity to ask questions, refine their skills, and build a strong foundation for their tango journey.
So whether you are a beginner looking to take your first steps in tango or an experienced dancer seeking to further develop your skills, Tango E14 welcomes you with open arms. Come join the most laid-back and friendly Argentine Tango Dance school in East London and discover the joy and beauty of this captivating dance form.
