Taekwon-Do ITF Trois-Rivires, part of the Taekwon-do Pierre Laquerre Academy, has been serving the community for over 40 years. Affiliated with the Mauricie Regional Taekwon-do Association, the Quebec Federation of Taekwon-do International, the Canadian Federation of Taekwon-do International, and the International Taekwon-do Federation, the school offers traditional Korean martial arts training.
The art of Taekwon-do emphasizes the balance between the mind and body, using scientific principles to generate maximum power in techniques. Classes for children focus on discipline, memory, distance, and balance, promoting concentration, self-confidence, and self-esteem. Parents and children can also experience classes together. For adults, beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes are offered, covering basic movements, predefined sequences (forms), special techniques, power techniques, sparring, and self-defence.
In addition to traditional Taekwon-do training, the school offers fitness classes inspired by martial arts movements, providing a cardio and muscle workout that strengthens various muscle groups. The mastery of these movements not only improves physical fitness but also teaches combat techniques. Self-defence classes focus on improving power, reaction time, agility, flexibility, and balance, enhancing concentration and self-esteem. Combat classes are available for yellow belt holders and above, teaching attack techniques, defence, counterattacks, footwork, and strategies.
Taekwon-Do ITF Trois-Rivires values international connections and learning opportunities, as shown by their involvement in events such as the IIC in Perth, Canada. The school also promotes the art during special occasions like Christmas and offers Taekwon-do sessions as unique gift ideas. Headed by Master Pierre Laquerre, the academy is dedicated to sharing the passion of Taekwon-do with motivated students.
