Welcome to S. W. S, a purpose-built dance studio located in Plymouth, New Zealand. Boasting three studios with sprung floors, Lemark dance floors, mirrors, and barres, S.
W. S provides a safe and conducive environment for dancers of all ages to express themselves creatively through dance.
Simara Winter, a fully qualified I. T. D teacher, invites you to come and learn to Dance, Act, and Sing at S. W.
S. With a passion for performing that began at the age of 3, Simara has an extensive background in dance. Starting with tapping in a church hall, she went on to attend various dance schools, participated in festivals and shows, and received training under renowned teachers in Devon and Plymouth. Simara even had a full scholarship at Roynon Dance Centre in Southampton, where she gained teaching certificates in Ballet, Modern, Tap, and National dance.
At S. W. S, Simara provides an extensive timetable of I. D exam classes and non-syllabus classes.
From baby ballet to adult classes, there is something for everyone. Specialised classes include I. D Modern, Tap, Ballet, Body conditioning, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, i-D contemporary syllabus, private lessons for festivals/competitions, exam coaching, group lessons for shows, and wedding dances. The studio is also available for hire for Toddler classes, Burlesque, Capoiera, and workshops by guest teachers.
S. W. S is affiliated with The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I. D), one of the world's leading dance examination boards.
With a wide range of dance genres available, graded exams aim to progressively build up skills and prepare students for more complex movements. The studio sells the required uniform and correct footwear for all exam syllabus classes.
