Surya Chandra Yoga

Located in Poole and Purbeck, Surya Chandra Yoga is a tranquil and inviting yoga studio founded by Charlotte Couse. With a passion for both the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga, Charlotte's classes are centred around the Sivananda style, which provides a soothing and transformative experience for her students.

Charlotte's yoga journey began with her initial teacher training at the Sivananda organisation's ashram in Austria in 2008. Since then, she has continued to deepen her understanding and practise of yoga through advanced trainings at various ashrams and centres around the world. She has also studied acupuncture, obtaining a BSc (Hons) degree and a licence to practise from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading. Her knowledge of anatomy and Western medicine greatly informs her yoga teaching.

At Surya Chandra Yoga, students can expect a fully-rounded yoga class that includes relaxation and breathing techniques, warm-up exercises, postures, and a final relaxation period with spiritual reading. Charlotte strives to create a safe and supportive environment for all levels of practitioners, offering modifications for each posture to ensure that everyone can participate and benefit from the practise.
