About

Stockton Divers, led by the dedicated organiser John Smith, is buzzing with excitement in Stockton-on-Tees, UK. Founded in 1981, this club has explored the underwater world for over 40 years, earning the title of UK Dive Club of the Year twice.

John Smith has ensured inclusivity is at the core of the club, welcoming divers from all backgrounds and training affiliations. With ties to the British Sub-Aqua Club and the Sub-Aqua Association, Stockton Divers allows divers from organisations like PADI, CMAS, SSAC, SSI, INTD, and RAID to join seamlessly.

Boasting top-notch facilities, the club uses Thornaby Swimming Pool for training. Here, experienced instructors cater to divers of all levels, offering a friendly environment and try dives for beginners. After pool sessions, the club's clubhouse on Teesdale Park is the place to be for relaxing and sharing diving stories. It’s equipped with a lecture room for training talks in a laid-back setting.

John Smith coordinates various exciting activities. Divers explore inland sites and the British coast, as well as top diving spots abroad. The club also has a vibrant social calendar, curated by the social secretary, making sure everyone stays connected.

Safety and proficiency are non-negotiable for Stockton Divers. As a “Not for Profit Organisation,” the club prioritises safe, economical diving for all members and encourages junior and female membership for a supportive dive community.

Meetings are held every Thursday at Thornaby Leisure Centre Pool at 19:00hrs, with follow-up gatherings at the clubhouse at 20:00hrs. John Smith invites anyone interested in diving to visit the club’s website and reach out through the “contact us” section to become a part of this passionate community.
