About
Just a quick shout from James, the organiser – he wanted to let the sports community know about the brilliant stuff happening at St Luke's West Holloway Church. It's right here in the heart of London, and they're all about inclusivity and acceptance, no matter where you're from or what you believe.
Every first Sunday of the month, they've got a bit of a schedule – a short Said Communion at 9:15 am and then a cracking Family Service at 11 am. The Family Service is a big hit with everyone, featuring community contributions and activities for the kids. After the service, there's tea and coffee, which always makes for a nice, warm atmosphere.
James also mentioned that St Luke's hosts loads of events during the week. You can check the church's website or get on their newsletter to keep up with what's going on. There's something for everyone, both locally and church-wide.
Safeguarding is a priority for the church. They stick to the House of Bishops' guidelines and have a Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) to handle any concerns. If you need more info, there's contact details for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) on their website.
Financial support is welcome through Stewardship. Donating helps the church continue its work in the community, and it's easy to do if you'd like to chip in.
You'll find St Luke's at Hillmarton Road, West Holloway, N7 9JE. Sunday mornings are always busy, especially around the 11 am service. There's choir singing, music, hymns, and prayers, with gluten-free communion available, plus organised activities for kids and Sunday school.
But it's not just about church services. St Luke's also doubles as a live music venue with a spacious hall and top-notch acoustics. They've got everything from classical to jazz and contemporary bands. It's a unique spot for artists and the audience alike.
And if you fancy a bit of yoga, St Luke's has you covered. They've got classes in a dedicated space, with sessions for all levels. It's a serene place to look after your physical, mental, and spiritual health.
So, there you have it – James and the rest of St Luke's team are creating a buzzing, inclusive community that’s about more than just traditional church services. It's a place where everyone can feel welcome and supported. Get involved and see what it's all about!
