St John's Hall

Hello everyone!

This is a quick note on behalf of Sarah, our lovely organiser, about some key details you might want to know about St John's Hall in Hertford.

Sarah wants to remind you all that St John's Hall is a multifaceted community centre, perfect for a range of events. Anyone from clubs to individual members can hire the hall.

The main hall can host about 100 people. There are 9 large trestle tables and 75 adult chairs plus 6 smaller trestle tables with 40 child-sized chairs. The space itself is around 13m x 6m (44ft x 20ft) with a height of 6m (20ft), so there’s plenty of room for your activities – even a bouncy castle!

For the badminton fans, you'll be pleased to know there’s a standard-size Badminton Court marked out. The kitchen is well-equipped too, with a Big Range oven, a fridge, and a large urn. Basic tableware is available, and there’s a mobile counter ready for serving.

Accessibility is sorted, with several toilets and an accessible one on the ground floor. A small ramp at the front ensures easy wheelchair access. There’s parking for 15 cars on-site, with the Gascoyne Way public car park just a five-minute walk away. Hertford East and Hertford North train stations are conveniently close as well.

Booking is pretty straightforward. Payments are needed upfront via credit or debit card. The hall is available for bookings all week, from 07:00 to midnight, with a minimum booking period of one hour on weekdays and three hours on weekends. You can book up to 18 months in advance.

Cancellation policies are as follows:
- Notify us at least three months in advance, and you get a full refund less a £10 admin fee.
- Three months to one month’s notice gets you a 50% refund, less the admin fee.
- Unfortunately, less than a month's notice means no refund.
