By the end of the course, you'll have a solid understanding of archery and be ready to take your skills further.
The course takes place on Saturday mornings at their outdoor range located on the summit of Mount Albert / Ōwairaka. The first week is a two-hour session, while the following weeks are 1.5 hours each. It's important to note that the course is divided into specific time blocks, and each session builds upon the previous one. Please ensure you can attend all the classes in your chosen course, as they do not run across public holiday weekends.
Due to the popularity of these courses, booking in advance is necessary. They tend to sell out quickly, so don't wait too long! The course is open for anyone aged 10 and older, making it a great activity for individuals as well as families. Unfortunately, they are unable to accommodate those younger than 10 for their courses.
In case the beginner course is already sold out, or you simply can't wait for the next session, private instruction can be arranged through a local archery shop or a private coach. If you already have some archery experience and your own equipment, you have the option to apply for club membership. As part of the process, there will be a brief assessment of your safe shooting skills, ensuring everyone's well-being while on the range.
The beginner course also includes information about their outdoor range and the range rules. Mountain Green Archery Club values safety above all else, and they want you to have a full understanding of how to navigate and enjoy their facilities. Their team of dedicated instructors looks forward to sharing their knowledge and passion with you, making sure you have a great time while learning the art of archery.
Before attending the course, it may be helpful to familiarise yourself with the locations of your facial features.
