In collaboration with Mount Albert Grammar School (MAGS), Mountain Green Archery Club Outdoor Range invites you to be a part of an exciting five-week beginner course specifically designed for MAGS students who want to venture into the world of archery. The primary aim of this course is to ignite an interest in archery among the students and assist those who wish to further their skills in this sport.
During the course, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of archery, with a strong emphasis on safety measures and shooting techniques. Mountain Green Archery Club generously provides all the necessary equipment and coaching required for a fulfilling learning experience. Once the course is successfully completed, students will be qualified to join our club, engage in shooting activities at our range, or even participate in archery competitions.
To ensure effective learning and an enjoyable group dynamic, the course is conducted in several specific time blocks. The dates for each course will be provided upon booking. Remember, availability is limited and spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
No matter the weather conditions, rest assured that the course will continue as archery is an all-weather sport. Rain or shine, we'll be there, bow in hand!
Post-course, students have the option to become members of Mountain Green Archery Club. They can even purchase their own bow and participate in the exciting College/MAGS Development Programme on Sunday mornings. This program primarily focuses on developing technique, stamina, and shooting distance through the World Archery beginner award program. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to compete in the Archery In Schools league and take part in the College Sports Archery during Term 1. Alternatively, they can join the Youth Development Program held on Sunday mornings.
Please note that we recommend participation in only one program due to the extensive nature of archery activities. We want to ensure that students have an engaging and focused experience throughout.
