About
Welcome to Star Boating Club – Wellington's oldest rowing club, founded in 1866. Nestled on the beautiful Whairepo Lagoon, right by Taranaki St Wharf, this club is a home for rowers of all levels, from juniors to masters.
With a history of producing some of New Zealand's top rowers who've competed at the World Championships and the Olympics, Star Boating Club, led by John, is always keen to meet new rowers, coxswains, and coaches. Whether you're an experienced rower or just starting out, if you have a passion for the sport, you'll fit right in.
Our iconic clubhouse, “The Boatshed,” has stood on the Wellington Waterfront for over 130 years. It's not just a hub for the rowing community but also a unique venue for events. For more details on venue hire, visit www.theboatshedvenue.co.nz.
