

Standing Stone Stables, located in Saint Ives, is a fully insured and licenced riding school that offers a range of services to horse enthusiasts of all ages. With a team of experienced and passionate instructors, Standing Stone Stables aims to provide a fun and friendly environment for riders to learn and grow.
The human team at Standing Stone Stables consists of Natalie Stevens, the proprietor and instructor, and Kelly Bairds, an instructor. Natalie, a UKCC Qual Pony Club registered coach, has a wealth of experience in various equestrian activities and enjoys teaching both adults and children. She has two horses named Barley and Orla, with whom she hopes to participate in local competitions. Kelly, on the other hand, excels in building riders' confidence and has been with the school since its inception.
She is also a personal trainer, bringing a unique skill set to the team. Kelly has her own horse, Gerald, that she trains and enjoys spending time with.
In addition to the human team, Standing Stone Stables also has a non-human team, although this section is still a work in progress.
The riding school offers a range of pricing options to cater to different needs. Group lessons for regular riders are priced at 28. 50, with a maximum of six riders per lesson. Private lessons for regular riders are priced at 35 for 30 minutes.
Hacking, which allows riders to explore the picturesque countryside around Carbis Bay, is priced at 28. 50 for 45 minutes. Pony Club sessions are available on Thursdays at 15 per session, while the Saturday Club is offered at 10 for those who have booked a lesson and 20 for those without a lesson. Birthday parties, Glitter & Groom or Pony Experience sessions, home school sessions, school trips, and enrichment/SEN sessions are also available, with prices varying.
Additionally, the riding school organises various extra events, each with its own individual pricing.
Standing Stone Stables believes in offering a variety of activities, both ridden and non-ridden, to cater to different preferences. Riding lessons are a core offering, with a focus on preparing riders for horse ownership. The school has its own ponies but also welcomes clients who bring their own horses for training. There are two rubber arenas, one measuring 40 × 30 and the other 20 × 40, as well as a cross-country schooling field for summer.
For riders who prefer leisurely hacks, there are regular social hacking groups that explore the beautiful countryside. Participants can unwind in the cosy and warm tack room after the ride, enjoying tea, coffee, and treats. Themed events are another highlight at Standing Stone Stables, with the school organising fun activities to celebrate different occasions throughout the year. From Easter Bunny hunts to Halloween shenanigans and magical Christmas festivities, there is always something exciting happening at the stables.
For those looking to celebrate a special occasion, Standing Stone Stables also offers party and hen do packages. There is a separate area dedicated to creating a magical experience for such events.
