Welcome to Spalding & District Squash Club, the top choice for squash and racketball in South Lincolnshire. Established in 1970, the club initially operated with a single squash court in a barn on a member's farm. However, due to the club's growing popularity, funds were raised, and a new building was opened in September 1972, featuring two squash courts. In 1976, a third court was added, and in 1979, the club proudly welcomed its glass back court.
As a “Community Amateur Sporting Club” (CASC), Spalding Squash & Racketball Club is run by a committee of elected members. Any surplus generated from annual membership subscriptions is reinvested in the facilities to benefit its members.
Joining the Spalding Squash & Racketball Club is a simple process, and membership is available year-round. The annual subscription includes court lighting, eliminating the need for ongoing court fees. Once you become a member, you can enjoy unlimited play and access to the club 24/7.
The club's internal leagues are an excellent opportunity to meet fellow members and compete against players of similar skill levels, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned club team player. These leagues promote camaraderie and sportsmanship among members.
Thanks to generous funding, including a Sport England Olympic legacy grant, Spalding Squash & Racketball Club has invested over 180k in its facilities since 2015. This investment has enabled the refurbishment of all four squash courts, changing rooms, and the club room, ensuring that members enjoy modern and well-maintained amenities. Additionally, all courts are viewable from the first-floor club room, providing an exceptional vantage point for spectators.
The club's facilities include four recently refurbished courts with Junckers solid Beech floors, as well as a glass back show court. Underfloor heating keeps the courts comfortable, even during colder months. Male and female changing rooms have also been recently renovated for maximum convenience. The well-stocked bar offers a wide selection of hot and cold drinks, savoury snacks, and racket accessories.
The bar area is furnished with chairs, tables, and sofas, providing a cosy spot to relax and socialise. Digital Satellite Television is available in the clubroom, allowing members to catch up on sporting events or other entertainment. Notably, the club does not charge light fees or require coin metres, making it hassle-free for members. Instead, a contactless/chip & pin card payment system is available at the bar for convenient transactions.
