Located in the heart of Southey, the Southey Communiplex is a non-profit organization run by dedicated volunteers from the local community. This beautiful facility boasts a full-sized ice skating rink that is home to the Southey Marlins hockey teams, ranging from Learn to Play all the way up to the Senior team. In addition to the hockey teams, the Communiplex is also home to local recreational teams, a successful skating club, and power skating programs.
During the winter months, the Southey Communiplex welcomes teams from all over Saskatchewan for practices, camps, tryouts, and tournaments. Being only a 30-minute drive from Regina, the facility is a popular choice for teams looking for affordable ice time. Once the ice comes out in the summer, the organization's vision is to transform the Communiplex into a year-round facility for the community to enjoy.
Aside from ice sports, the Southey Communiplex offers a variety of activities for all ages. Visitors can enjoy the walking/running track on the rink surface, participate in exercise classes, join the pickleball league, or even start their own sports leagues. The facility is available for event bookings year-round, including weddings, family reunions, birthday parties, concerts, corporate meetings, and memorials.
The Southey Communiplex is constantly hosting events and activities to keep the community engaged. From Ladies Night with Banger Bingo to live sports broadcasts through LiveBarn, there is always something exciting happening at the Communiplex.
