Community, including our pride and joy – the Dysart Community Rink.
The Dysart Community Rink is a modern ice skating rink and hockey arena that serves as a staple of our community. Ice is typically installed in early November and removed in late March, with the rink serving as a secondary venue for community events from April to October. The calendar on our website provides specific scheduling information for the rink, including ice skating, hockey games, figure skating, and other activities.
Constructed in 1988 mostly by volunteers following a fire that destroyed the old skating and curling rinks in 1987, the Dysart Community Rink offers a range of sports and activities for residents and visitors alike. In addition to hockey and figure skating, the rink also hosts slow-pitch ball games and features a workout centre for those looking to stay active. Active organizations, such as church groups, senior citizens, and the Recreation Board, are proud to call the rink their home base.
The Village of Dysart, situated in the RM of Lipton #217, has a population that fluctuates around 200 residents. Despite setbacks in the past, the community continues to thrive through dedication, cooperation, and volunteerism. Residents enjoy amenities such as high-speed internet, natural gas, a fire department, bar and restaurant, community centre, senior's subsidized housing, and a library. The Dysart and District History Book is a valuable resource for learning about the community's rich history and can be purchased through Janet Bradshaw.
In Dysart, low-cost living, a friendly atmosphere, and an abundance of community spirit create a safe and welcoming environment for families and retirees. The Dysart Community Rink plays a vital role in bringing residents together and fostering a sense of community pride. We invite you to visit our village and experience all that Dysart has to offer, including our beloved ice skating rink.
