Welcome to Southern United Rugby Football Club (SURF), Tokoroa's top rugby club. Established in 2001, SURF is a merger of two esteemed clubs, Tokoroa and Tokoroa Pirates, which were founded in 1958 and 1973 respectively. This melding of history and tradition has resulted in a vibrant and dynamic club that is deeply rooted in the local community.
At SURF, rugby is not just a sport; it is a way of life. Our club fosters a strong sense of whanau (family) among its members, creating an inclusive and supportive environment for players of all ages and abilities. We take immense pride in our rich rugby culture and constantly strive to uphold the values of teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.
Currently, SURF boasts an impressive lineup of teams, including two men's rugby teams, one women's rugby team, and an astounding 18 junior boys and girls (J. A. B) teams. This diverse range of teams ensures that players of all ages and genders have an opportunity to engage in the exciting and exhilarating sport of rugby.
As a club, we firmly believe in the development and growth of our players, both on and off the field. We place a strong emphasis on skills training, providing our members with the necessary tools and resources to reach their full potential. Our dedicated coaching staff and support network work tirelessly to create a nurturing environment that fosters personal growth and sporting achievement.
