SDJSA, or Southern Districts Junior Soccer Association, is a prominent soccer club and youth organisation located in North Brighton, Adelaide. With a rich history spanning over 40 years, SDJSA provides opportunities for primary school children in the southern metropolitan areas of Adelaide to participate in soccer competitions.
The association organises home and away fixtures, night games, and carnivals, attracting nearly 3000 enthusiastic young players. These players compete in various divisions, including Under 7, 8, 9, 10, and senior levels. SDJSA is committed to giving every school child the chance to represent their school and engage in the exciting and enjoyable sport of soccer.
In addition to the competitions, SDJSA also runs a range of free coaching and referee clinics. These clinics aim to enhance the skills and knowledge of both players and volunteers, ensuring a high level of sporting expertise throughout the association.
To keep the community informed about upcoming events and activities, SDJSA maintains an active calendar. This calendar includes important dates such as coaching clinics, team nominations, fixtures handout night, and referee courses. SDJSA also organises various carnivals throughout the year, providing an opportunity for players to showcase their skills and compete against teams from other schools and clubs.
The association places a great emphasis on inclusivity and equal participation. They have structured the divisions according to age groups, with specific birth year requirements for each category. This ensures fair and balanced competition for all players.
Tragically, the SDJSA family recently suffered the loss of their Treasurer and life member, Jean Kenny, who passed away after bravely battling cancer. Jean's dedication and contribution to the association for over 40 years will be deeply missed by all. The SDJSA committee extends their heartfelt condolences to Jean's family and friends during this challenging time.
For easy access to game times and ground locations, coordinators are requested to email the webmaster with the necessary details in a word document. This information will be added to the club's webpage for everyone to view. The website serves as a valuable resource for coordinators and participants alike, ensuring a smooth and organised season.
SDJSA continues to be a pillar of the local soccer community, providing opportunities for young individuals to develop their skills, form friendships, and foster a love for the sport.
