Hello Team,
Sam here. He’s hoping everyone in our sports community is doing well and enjoying the season. He wanted to take a moment to share a bit about the South East Athletic Football Club with you all.
Since its founding in 2004, South East Athletic has grown from a small group of friends and brothers playing footy in South London, to a club that's proud to include a Kent County team, a Woolwich and Eltham team, and a Southern Veterans team. What started as a casual kickabout has truly blossomed.
The core of South East Athletic is all about family values and love for the game. The aim is simple: bring joy and excitement to families through football. Everyone involved, from players to volunteers, is united by this passion and the desire to see smiles all around. It's the dedication of these volunteers that keeps the club running smoothly, and Sam wants to personally thank each one of you for your tireless effort.
Our club might be known for its focus on the beautiful game, but it’s the sense of family and community that sets us apart. All volunteers give their time and resources to make everything possible. Supporting the club means supporting the local football scene and providing opportunities for everyone to stay active and feel like they belong.
The badge of South East Athletic is more than just a symbol; it's a representation of our identity and our values. The shield signifies our protective spirit, while the lion reflects the pride, fight, and spirit we all share. The shamrock is a respectful nod to our founders, hailing from three Irish families, and the Thames symbolises our deep roots in South East London.
And let’s not forget the initials SEA/2004, reminding us of how far we've come since the early days. It's a trip down memory lane and a sign of our progress.
South East Athletic is all about family, passion for football, and inclusivity. With the unwavering support of friends, family, and the wider community, we’ll continue to offer everyone the chance to play, enjoy, and be part of something special.
Come on, SEA!
Best,
Sam
