South Coast RC Club (SCRC) is a leading RC racing club located in Wimborne, near Bournemouth and Poole in New Zealand. The club was established in 2008 and has since become a thriving community of RC racing enthusiasts.
The club boasts a purpose-built outdoor track made of high-quality astroturf. In 2015, the track underwent extensive renovations, making it one of the best astro tracks in the country. The track is fully floodlit, allowing for exhilarating nighttime races.
SCRC specialises in outdoor racing for 1/10th Electric buggies and 1/8th Nitro and Electric buggies and truggies. However, the club welcomes racers of all skill levels and models, providing a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.
The club is run by a dedicated committee consisting of 15 members, including the Chairman Jeff Humby, Vice Chairman Adrian Tanner, Treasurer Steve Hamilton, and Race Coordinator Phil Sawkins. Together, they work tirelessly to ensure the smooth operation and growth of the club.
Throughout its history, SCRC has experienced significant growth and improvement. The club now features enhanced facilities, including a new rostrum to accommodate 12–14 racers, on-site toilets, and ample car parking. Timing gear is available for hire to give everyone a chance to experience the thrill of racing.
As a club, SCRC prioritises creating a friendly and fun environment for racers of all ages. The goal is to provide a supportive space where enthusiasts can indulge in the exciting sport of Model Car Racing. Novices and professionals alike are encouraged to participate and enjoy the camaraderie that exists within the RC racing community.
To ensure appropriate safety measures, the club requires all racers to present BRCA insurance after their second visit to the track. This policy ensures that everyone can enjoy a secure racing experience.
To find South Coast RC Club, turn off the A31 and head towards Ashley Heath/Three Legged Cross. Look for the ASHLEY HEATH CAR BOOT sign and turn right into the Industrial estate entrance. Stay to the right and follow ahead until the road turns left into a gravel track. Continue forward, passing the Banger track, and you will find SCRC Track in the last field on your left.
