Dave here, your friendly South Canterbury Amateur Athletics Club organiser, wanted to share some exciting news with the community. Joining Ruby as Joint Junior Club Captain this season is Liam Smith. Liam's been a dedicated member of our club for the past five years, consistently pushing himself and achieving new goals. His participation in regional and national competitions has always been noteworthy, showing skill and sportsmanship. Liam's commitment to our club and teammates is truly appreciated.

For those who might not know, our club in Timaru, New Zealand is all about giving athletes, from beginners to seasoned pros, a place to enjoy track and field athletics. We're based at Martins Field on College Road, a great spot for running, jumping, and throwing events. It’s where we host our training sessions, competitions, and events—a well-maintained and safe environment to hone your skills.

If you have kids aged 6 to 11, don't forget our popular Run Jump Throw programme every Wednesday from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. This is a great way for kids to enjoy athletics using modified equipment and games, helping them build confidence and learn new skills in a fun setting.

A big shoutout to our volunteer officials. Without you, our events wouldn’t run smoothly. If you're keen to get involved, there’s an official’s training programme available through New Zealand Athletics and Athletics Canterbury. It’s a great way to get the knowledge you need to help us out.

We’re proud to have Ruby Mahuika and Liam Smith as Joint Junior Club Captains for the 2023/24 season. Both have shown incredible dedication and serve as fantastic role models for their fellow athletes.
