Sooke Turf Field, located at the Fred Milne Athletic Park on Sooke River Rd, is an essential addition to the CRD region. The artificial turf playing field is a regional priority, serving users of all ages and abilities. With the field accommodating sports such as soccer, baseball, football, rugby, field lacrosse, and more, it aims to provide a safe and well-drained facility for residents and visitors.
The project costs $1. 5 million, with contributions already made by the City of Sooke and CRD totalling $1 million. To raise the remaining funds, Sooke Turf Field is seeking in-kind material and labour donations, advertising sales, and offering individuals the opportunity to own their own square foot of the new turf field.
Supporters can also purchase field signage to showcase their commitment to local sports, health, and wellness, with options for 5-year commitments using funds, trade materials, or labour. Additionally, individuals can own a piece of Sooke history by purchasing one or more square foot units of the turf field.
To contribute to the project, donations can be made through cheque to the Fred Milne Field Committee. For more information on sponsorship opportunities, purchasing turf space, field signage, or other inquiries, interested parties can contact Sooke Turf Field through the provided contact information.
