Sooke Sailing Co-op

The Sooke Sailing Co-Op, located at the picturesque Sooke Landing Marina, offers an affordable and enjoyable way for individuals and families to experience the thrill of sailing. Their boat, Rooz, a Catalina 27, comes equipped with sailing upgrades and a new 9. 9hp EFI outboard motor, making it perfect for cruising and day sailing along the stunning British Columbia coastline.

Members of the co-op pay a low annual fee and contribute their time towards maintenance, administration, and social events. This cooperative ownership model allows for shared expenses such as insurance, moorage, and maintenance, making sailing accessible to all. With a limit of 14 sailing memberships per boat, the club ensures a close-knit and supportive community of sailors.

For those new to sailing, the Sooke Sailing Co-Op offers opportunities to learn through Sail Canada Certification programs and hands-on experience. Non-sailors are encouraged to join and can participate as crew members while gaining valuable skills in boat maintenance and repair. Experienced sailors are also welcome to skipper Club Sails or explore the waters around Sooke and the Gulf Islands at their leisure.
