David, the organiser, would like to share some updates about Somerley Park Golf Club, located in Somerley, just 2 miles from the lovely market town of Ringwood, Hampshire. Nestled close to the New Forest National Park and only 10 miles from Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole, this club is a perfect spot for anyone passionate about golf.

Established on 1st July 1995, Somerley Park Golf Club marked its 25th anniversary in 2020. Designed by John Jacobs OBE, a key figure in Modern English Golf, the course has seen several redesigns, with the latest in 2014 introducing three new holes. The layout now includes a 10-hole woodland and parkland course, retaining three of the original holes.

For those interested in specifics, the course measures 5310 yards from the white tees and has a par of 69. There are different tees for holes 10-18, giving the feel of playing 18 different holes. The terrain is mostly flat, making it easy to walk, and it's also trolley and buggy friendly. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to golf, you’ll find a mix of challenges and enjoyment here with the narrow, tree-lined fairways and well-contoured greens.

The club's new clubhouse, opened in 2016, offers great views across the fairways and greens, giving members and guests a lovely spot to relax after their round. The friendly atmosphere at Somerley Park Golf Club is something David takes pride in, as it provides a supportive community for golfers of all levels.

There are several membership options available. David is also keen for people to experience the club first-hand, offering a trial round for a low green fee of £15. You can also try a month’s membership, with 50% of the fee refundable if you choose to become a full member.
