City Beach Tennis Club (CBTC) is a thriving community organisation in Perth that warmly welcomes tennis enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. With a wide range of activities and events, CBTC provides an inclusive and enjoyable environment for anyone looking to embrace their love for the game.
One of CBTC's most popular activities is their social tennis games. Every weekend and on most weekdays, the club organises matches in doubles formats for mixed, ladies, and men's categories. The games are carefully planned to ensure that players of similar abilities are paired up, guaranteeing a fair and satisfying experience for everyone involved.
In addition to the weekend games, CBTC offers midweek social tennis options. Ladies can participate in organised doubles sets starting at 9am (9.30am during winter), and mixed social sets are also available at the same time. For those who prefer evening play, CBTC hosts Twilight Wednesdays from 5-6.30pm – a fantastic opportunity to enjoy tennis as the sun sets.
CBTC understands the importance of nurturing young talent, which is why they proudly host the Friday Afternoon Juniors club. From October to April each year, kids can have a blast playing tennis while having fun with their peers. Junior members can join in on the social tennis action from 5-6.30pm – an excellent chance to build their skills and enjoy the sport they love.
Passionate about competition? CBTC actively participates in pennant competitions, with teams taking on challenges in various divisions. If you're keen to join a pennant team, you can either form your own with friends or seek guidance and support from CBTC in finding the perfect fit. Do note that all pennant players must be registered club members.
On different days throughout the week, CBTC also organises specific events tailored for various tennis enthusiasts. Monday Nights are all about Women's Singles/Doubles in a Fast4 format. Tuesday Daytime offers Women's Open Doubles in four sets, followed by an evening of Mixed Doubles. Wednesdays cater to both men and women, with Open Doubles and Women's Doubles matches taking place. Summer Wednesdays bring the excitement of regular Doubles matches, while winter features the 'Credent Cup' – an intra-club competition welcoming both members and non-members for a small fee.
Thursday Nights are dedicated to Doubles matches, and Saturdays offer the thrill of Open Singles/Doubles for both men and women. On Sundays, the club welcomes Women's Singles/Doubles as well as Men's & Women's Doubles. Sunday Mornings offer additional opportunities for Singles & Doubles matches to keep the tennis momentum going.
