Sitsiam Camp/Buddhai Swan is a renowned Thai Martial Arts school located in Stalybridge, Greater Manchester. With over 40 years of experience, the school is dedicated to teaching and promoting authentic Thai martial arts. The classes offered include Muay Thai (Thai Boxing), Muay Boran (Traditional Thai Boxing), Krabi Krabong (Thai Weapons Art), and Self-Defence.
The instructors at Sitsiam Camp are highly trained and experienced. Arjarn (Master) Kru Arjarn Tony Moore holds a Gold Sash 9th Degree, while Kru Steven Moore holds a Gold Sash 7th Degree. Kru Gian Lagonegro has a Gold Sash 5th Degree, and Kru Lee Manning is a qualified instructor from the British Thai Boxing Council.
Established in 1983, the original Sitsiam Camp was located in Clayton, East Manchester. In 1992, it became the official representative for the Buddhai Swan Institute in Thailand. In 1994, the school relocated to Ashton-under-Lyne in Tameside, Manchester. Currently, the school is situated at Unit 15, Whitelands Industrial Estate, Clarence Road / Whitelands Road, Ashton-under-Lyne / Stalybridge / Greater Manchester, SK15 1QL.
Sitsiam Camp is the only true Thai martial arts school of excellence in England. The purpose-built facility is designed specifically for the teaching of Thai martial arts. The headteacher, Kru Tony Moore, has achieved numerous successes with his Sitsiam Camp. These include producing multiple champions such as a triple Muay Thai British Champion at Lightweight, two double Muay Thai British Champions, a British Muay Thai and European Kick Boxing Champion, and more.
In addition to its success in championship competitions, Sitsiam Camp has also gained popularity through its YouTube channel, “thaiboxing2008. ” The channel showcases the camp's action-packed demonstrations and fights, as well as videos dedicated to highlighting the greatest Thai boxers of all time in “The Golden Age of Muay Thai” series.
Kru Tony Moore's expertise in Muay Thai has been recognised globally, leading to the release of his book “Muay Thai: The Essential Guide to the Art of Thai Boxing” in 2004. The book was well-received and continues to be a valuable resource for Muay Thai enthusiasts in England, Thailand, and the USA.
