Shulus Community Arena, located in Merritt, is the first First Nations owned and operated arena in BC. The Lower Nicola Indian Band (LNIB) is proud to provide this facility for use by community members and recreational enthusiasts throughout the region. The arena supports a strong hockey community in the winter, as well as lacrosse and other events during the summer months.
Since opening its doors in December 2001, the Shulus Community Arena has had a significant economic impact on the Nicola Valley. It has become a well-established hockey and lacrosse facility for local and provincial events. The arena offers more ice time for Minor Hockey Associations, Recreation Leagues, and private rentals. During the off-season, the arena converts to focus on lacrosse, hosting local games and tournaments in the spring and summer months.
Various teams and organizations, such as the Community Infracon No Name Whacky SFE Duffers and Team 2 Squared, utilize the arena for their events and games. Registered members of the Lower Nicola Indian Band can access specific information and login details on the LNIB website.
