Shenyoga is a beautiful and welcoming yoga studio located in Bath, New Zealand. Founded and led by Sophie Shenstone, the studio offers a unique approach to yoga and bodywork, focused on reshaping both the physical and mental landscapes of its students.
At Shenyoga, the practise of hatha yoga takes on a flowing, breath-led, and meditative style. Sophie creatively combines core strength and dynamic flow with qualities of listening, non-competitiveness, and embodied inquiry. Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate practitioner, there are classes available to suit your level and needs.
In addition to yoga classes, Shenyoga also offers Shen massage, a holistic and intuitive bodywork therapy. Drawing from shiatsu, Thai yoga, and deep tissue massage, Shen massage is described as “having yoga done to you. ” It is a meditative experience for both the therapist and the client, anchored in breath awareness and sensitivity of touch. Each treatment is personalised, drawing from Sophie's extensive experience in shiatsu, yoga, and meditation.
For expecting mothers, Shenyoga provides specialised pregnancy yoga classes. These classes aim to relieve common discomforts associated with pregnancy, such as back pain, muscle stiffness, and high blood pressure.
