Tae Kwon Do is a martial art developed in Korea during the early 1950s. It combines jumping and kicking with the foot (Tae), punching and blocking with the fist (Kwon), and the art, way, and method (Do). The name Tae Kwon Do was given to this new martial art in 1955 by a group of leading Korean martial artists led by Major General Choi Hong Hi. Tae Kwon Do was introduced to the UK in 1967, and the Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain (TAGB) was formed in 1983.
Sheffield Tae Kwon Do was founded by Master Graham Churchill, an 8th Dan black belt, in 1990. He also founded the Lincoln TKD school in 1989. Master Churchill took over as the instructor at the Doncaster TKD in 1998, a school he joined as a beginner in 1974. With such a wealth of experience and expertise, students can trust that they are learning from a highly qualified and dedicated instructor.

Sheffield Tae Kwon Do offers classes in two locations. In Doncaster, classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Cantley Community Centre on Goodison Boulevard. Beginners' classes are from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
In Sheffield, classes are held twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays. Monday classes take place at St. Gabriel's Church Hall on 2 Dobbin Hill, Ecclesall. Wednesday classes are held at All Saints Ecclesall Parish Church Hall on Ringinglow Road.
The schedule for Sheffield classes is as follows: 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm for juniors (3-14 years old), 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm for adults beginners up to blue stripe, and 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm for advanced blue to black belt.
