Led by Lesley, the owner and teacher, Serenity Yoga is committed to creating an inclusive yoga experience for all. Lesley has been practising yoga for 24 years and teaching for 7 years. She initially struggled with physical limitations herself when she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia during her teacher training. However, this diagnosis has propelled her to explore how yoga can benefit individuals with physical limitations and help them manage the mental effects of their conditions.
As a certified teacher with Yoga Alliance, British Wheel of Yoga, and Yoga Federation of Northern Ireland, Lesley has been recognised for her exceptional work in the field. She was nominated for Yoga Provider of the Year 2019 in the Health and Fitness Awards NI and won Yoga Instructor of the Year 2020/2021 in the Prestige Awards Northern Ireland. Lesley's passion lies in bringing yoga to individuals who may not be able to attend standard classes. She offers armchair-based yoga classes for the elderly on a weekly basis in Bangor and provides one-to-one sessions in her studio or online.
Her classes are tailored to the specific needs of each student, ensuring a completely inclusive yoga experience.
In addition to her regular classes, Lesley also provides yoga sessions for groups and charities. She has previously worked with organisations such as the Alzheimer's Society and the Arthritis Organisation in Northern Ireland. Serenity Yoga also offers meditation videos on their YouTube channel, further complementing their holistic approach to well-being.
