Sei Jou Kai Ju Jitsu is a renowned martial arts club located in Northampton. The club prides itself on its rich samurai heritage and offers training in the traditional Japanese martial art of Ju Jitsu. Ju Jitsu, originally known as , jjutsu, was developed by the samurai as a method of close combat and focuses on techniques such as throwing, immobilising, joint locks, choking, and the study of weapons.
At Sei Jou Kai Ju Jitsu, technique is emphasised and considered crucial in effectively immobilising a stronger and larger opponent. The club also places great importance on fitness, core strength, and flexibility, which are integral parts of the training. Many individuals are surprised by their own capabilities when they engage in Ju Jitsu practise, as it requires practise, sweat, dedication, and determination.
Within the club, there is a team of experienced and dedicated Yudansha (Black Belts) who act as guides and mentors for members. They are skilled practitioners who offer excellent instruction in Jujitsu. The club's Dojo is clean, warm, and dry, providing a comfortable training environment. Additionally, it offers off-road parking, changing facilities, and a spacious training area equipped with over 90m2 of 40 mm competition matting.
Sei Jou Kai Ju Jitsu welcomes individuals who are interested in learning and starting their martial arts journey.
