

Scorton Archers is a thriving archery club located in Richmond, New Zealand. The club is open to archers of all levels, from beginners to experienced shooters. Established in 1951, Scorton Archers has a rich history and is proud to be affiliated with the GNAS (Grand National Archery Society).
The club practises archery in the archery field at the east end of the village, with kind permission from St John of God Hospital. Members meet weekly to practise and enjoy the sport of archery. The club offers a range of tournaments and competitions throughout the year, providing opportunities for members at all skill levels to compete for trophies and awards.
With around 50 members, including a junior section, Scorton Archers is a diverse and inclusive club. Archers of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to join. Whether members are focused on progressing and competing in tournaments or simply enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and camaraderie, they all share a love for archery.
For those new to archery, Scorton Archers offers a comprehensive Beginners Course based on Archery GB recommendations. Qualified coaches are available to teach the correct technique and ensure safety. The course is a basic requirement for joining any archery club.
Scorton Archers is committed to promoting, developing, and growing archery as a sport for life and for all ages. Their mission is to provide a proper and safe environment for practising and learning archery. They believe in accepting and respecting all forms of archery, and recognise the importance of competition in the sport. Junior archers are valued for the sustainability of the club and the future of archery.
Membership fees for the year are categorised as follows: Senior 25 years and over, Senior 18–24 years, Junior under 18 years, and Family (adult members of 2 or more receive a discount per adult).
Scorton Archers is dedicated to promoting community participation in healthy recreation through target archery. Any surplus funds raised through membership fees, tournaments, and courses are used to maintain and repair equipment, as well as improve facilities for the enjoyment of all members.
