Welcome to Sarayi Dance School, located in Dandenong/Dandenong North in Victoria. Established in 2005, Sarayi Belly Dance School is dedicated to delivering excellence in belly dance education and technique. Our passionate and experienced teachers strive to ensure that every student masters the art of belly dancing.
At Sarayi, we believe in staying up to date with the latest techniques and trends, which is why we organise annual trips to Egypt. During these trips, we receive training from popular male and female belly dancers in Cairo. This allows us to bring the most current and authentic belly dance techniques to our students.
One of the highlights of our school is the annual charity concert. We are proud to support various charities, including Children with Cancer, Agapi (children with special needs), The Salvation Army Bush Fire Appeal, Tyler Fishlock, Children with Impaired Hearing, and The Anti-Cancer Foundation. This event is a major showcase of our students' talents and our commitment to giving back to the community.
At Sarayi, we believe that belly dancing is for everyone regardless of age, gender, or body shape. It is a beautiful art form that not only provides a great workout but also releases stress and anxiety while nurturing the inner beauty of each individual. Our studio is fully equipped with high-quality Tasmanian oak floorboards, a professional sound system, disco lights, and full-length mirrors. It is air-conditioned in summer and heated in winter, creating a comfortable atmosphere for learning all year round. The studio is always clean and tidy, providing a welcoming and safe environment for all participants.
Our dance teachers, Sarayi and John, are dedicated and experienced professionals. Sarayi, the principal of Sarayi Belly Dance School, draws influence from both Egyptian and American belly dancers in her technique repertoire. She specialises in Modern Egyptian, Raqs Sharki, Gawazee, Saiidi, folkloric, drumming, and more. As a qualified school teacher, Sarayi knows how to create a comfortable and enjoyable environment for her students.
John is a highly valued member of Sarayi Belly Dance School and brings his passion and expertise as a male belly dancer. Influenced by Egyptian and international belly dancers, John specialises in Modern Egyptian, Raqs Sharki, Gawazee, Saiidi, folkloric, Tanoura, Sufi, drumming, and more. With a friendly and supportive attitude, John develops a strong working relationship with his students.
Throughout the year, Sarayi Dance School offers opportunities for all students to perform at various events. We entertain and bring smiles to faces at hostels, nursing homes, school fetes, and festivals. These performances not only provide valuable experience but also instil confidence in our students.
