Sandbach Sharks

Sandbach Sharks is an all-inclusive swimming club located exclusively at Sandbach School in Sandbach, New Zealand. The club welcomes swimmers of all levels, whether they are looking to compete, already competing, or wanting to improve their technical skills and fitness under the expert guidance of the coaching team.

To join Sandbach Sharks, swimmers must be confident in the water and have already passed a Learn to Swim or equivalent programme. The club offers free swim trials to potential members, and a membership pack will be issued after the trial.

The coaching team at Sandbach Sharks is dedicated to helping swimmers achieve their goals and improve their skills. The club offers a variety of squads to cater to different levels of swimmers. Squad movements are subject to approval by the Head Coach.

The Transition Link squad is designed for swimmers who have completed at least stage 6 of a Learn to Swim programme. This squad focuses on bridging the gap between learning to swim and training squads. Swimmers attend two sessions per week and receive skills training, including starts, turns, dives, and stamina.

The Skills squad is for swimmers who can swim at least 25m on all four strokes and attempt a standing dive. Swimmers in this squad work towards achieving Stages 8-10 and can start competing in team and individual galas.

The Development squad is for swimmers who can swim at least 100m on freestyle and backstroke, 50m on breaststroke and butterfly, and complete various turns and starts. Swimmers in this squad commit to four out of five sessions per week and are achieving Stage awards 8-10.

Sandbach Sharks takes the safety and well-being of its members seriously and has safeguarding measures in place. The club also has a dedicated committee and provides club documents for reference.
