Street Dance Academy (SDA) in Sandbach is a dance school specialising in street dance styles. SDA is committed to offering top-notch dance education in a supportive, inclusive atmosphere.
Not only does SDA focus on technical skills, but also on building a sense of community among students. They treat all kids equally, promoting support and unity like a big family.
In 2023, SDA achieved a 100% Honours Pass Rate in the March Medal Tests. The Gfunk Junior Crew attended Dancers Delight, a leading UK dance showcase, in April. Throughout the year, SDA students earned numerous trophies at various competitions.
SDA’s performance at Breakin Convention, an Arts Council Critically Acclaimed Hip Hop dance showcase, received an outstanding review, making them the only Local Act to be so recognised. At the Soar Weekender, SDA teams excelled, with Gfunk megacrew winning by 24 points and taking home £1000.
These achievements wouldn’t be possible without SDA's dedicated teachers: Wusty, Codie, Lara, Abbey, Kim, Millie, Dan, and Leo, as well as student teachers Faith, Amalie, Gracie, and Sarah. Their hard work and passion shine through in every class.
SDA is also grateful for its fundraising team of parents who have raised over £800 for resources and outfits for performances and competitions.
SDA is a close-knit community living by the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Students benefit from excellent teachers, dedicated parent helpers, chaperones, and those who help with show preparations. Their support is vital to SDA’s existence.
Looking ahead, SDA has already set important dates for the coming year. Families are encouraged to note term dates, half-term breaks, and upcoming competitions to ensure continued success and growth for the students.
