Establish a solid foundation for handstands safely and effectively with this progressive series inspired by circus, pilates, and yoga at Ashtanga Yoga Montreal. Each class will guide you through a warm-up, exercises to mobilize and stabilize key joints, core strengthening exercises, related inversions, partner exercises, and relaxation. The journey to balancing on your hands can be a long one, but full of discoveries. This class is an invitation to forge new connections between body and mind, sharpen your proprioception, deepen your core strength, and tone your nervous system along the way to 'finding your line'. Participants are encouraged to come with an open mind and a supportive attitude, as we will co-create an environment of mutual growth where there will be occasional partner work. Heidi is a certified yoga and acroyoga instructor, as well as a circus artist specializing in group acrobatics and hand-to-hand.
