The Gold Coast Academy of Sport (GCAS) is proud to announce its upcoming Rugby League program designed for aspiring young players in the Gold Coast region. The program is geared towards honing the skills of talented athletes identified by their respective clubs and guiding them towards potential selection in Gold Coast Junior Representative teams.
The Academy's primary focus is on player development, not only improving technical abilities on the field but also providing a well-rounded education in areas such as nutrition, preparation, and mindset. The holistic approach aims to cultivate both the physical and mental aspects of the athletes in attendance.
Interested players will have the opportunity to attend an orientation meeting for a comprehensive overview of the program, followed by weekly training sessions throughout the duration of the program which runs from July to September. For further details, please reach out to the Academy.
Selection for the program is done through club nominations within the region, offering a clear pathway for talented players to progress through the junior representative ranks. The program caters to junior players between the ages of 14 and 16, with a limited number of spots available for participants along with coaching staff.
Athletes selected for the program will benefit from a provided uniform kit, on-field training sessions, skill development opportunities, educational workshops, personal growth prospects, and the chance to represent the Gold Coast Academy of Sport in competitive fixtures against other invited squads. It is an excellent opportunity for young players looking to take their game to the next level.
