Welcome to Ruby Cook Recreation Ground, the home of Wickersley Youth Junior Football Club in Rotherham. With a focus on providing football training for boys and girls from ages 4 to 6, Wickersley Youth aims to give young athletes an introduction to the sport while developing key skills.

At Wickersley Youth, all training sessions are led by DBS checked and FA Qualified coaches who are fully safeguarded by the FA. This ensures a safe and secure learning environment for all participants. The club is proud to offer football for all, welcoming boys and girls from 4 years old and upwards.

With a goal of fostering teamwork and friendship, Wickersley Youth creates a positive and inspiring environment for young athletes. The club boasts over 30 boys and girls teams, with more than 400 players being guided by over 50 FA qualified coaches.

For those looking to introduce their little ones to the world of football, the Wickersley Youth Football Academy is the perfect place to start. Held at Sorby Way on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm during the summer and at Rotherham Football Centre at 6pm in the winter, these sessions are designed to make learning football skills fun. Qualified coaches will work closely with each child, teaching them the basics of turning, stopping, passing, and dribbling.

As a Charter Standard Football Club, Wickersley Youth ensures that all of their coaches possess the FA Level One coaching qualification. This demonstrates the club's commitment to providing the best possible training and support. Additionally, all coaches have undergone Safeguarding Training and First Aid Training to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. Each coach is also DBS (CRB) checked for added assurance.
