Originally known simply as the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, the Hamilton, and Clydesdale Branch name was adopted in 1948 to reflect the wider area it serves. In addition to Hamilton, the branch extends its reach to include Larkhall, Wishaw, Biggar, Strathaven, Bothwellhaugh, Chapelton, and Dalserf.
Scottish Country Dancing offers numerous benefits, including physical fitness, the opportunity to make lasting friendships, and most importantly, enjoyment. It provides a unique and captivating way to stay active and have fun, immersing participants in the rich heritage of Scottish dance.
The Branch Class, held every Thursday from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Hamilton Guide Hall on Orchard Street, is the heart of the dance school.
