Will embrace the Royal Life Saving Aquatic Academy in Denistone East.
The Royal Life Saving Aquatic Academy - Denistone East is proudly operated by Royal Life Saving, Australia's leading water safety educator. The academy is dedicated to providing quality learn to swim programmes, exceptional service, and state-of-the-art facilities to create a learning-driven environment.
With a rich history in water safety spanning over 125 years, the Royal Life Saving Society has been at the forefront of aquatic education. In collaboration with the Department of Education (NSW), the academy was established to bring aquatic facilities to the local Sydney markets.
The flagship venue, located in Seven Hills, has been successfully operating since 2010 on the grounds of Hills Sports High School. Now, the second purpose-built facility in Denistone East, on the grounds of Denistone East Public School, is set to open its doors in summer 2020.
The Royal Life Saving Aquatic Academy in Denistone East offers a range of services, including learn to swim and survive programmes for individuals aged 6 months to adults. Additionally, swimming training and fitness squads are available for those who wish to improve their swimming skills and maintain their fitness.
The academy also provides essential courses and updates in resuscitation (CPR) and first aid, ensuring individuals are equipped with life-saving skills. For those interested in pursuing a career in the aquatic industry, pool lifeguard and vocational industry career pathways, including aquatic technical operations, are offered.
Swim teacher courses are available for aspiring instructors, granting them the Royal Life Saving Swim Teacher Licence. Furthermore, the Royal Life Saving Aquatic Academy has a longstanding relationship with Rainbow Club Australia, enabling disability initiatives.
Our pools are conveniently located on the grounds of Hills Sports High School in Seven Hills and Denistone East Public School in Denistone East. Both locations offer top-notch facilities to enhance the learning experience and provide a safe and comfortable environment for our students.
Our CEO recognises that Australians have a special affinity with water, but unfortunately, this also leads to a loss of life. In an effort to address drowning and near-drowning incidents, the Royal Life Saving Society Australia NSW Branch has established the Aquatic Safety Training Academy. This academy conducts vital research and develops drowning prevention initiatives to combat this issue.
Thanks to the support of the Federal and State Government, the Royal Life Saving Aquatic Academy in Denistone East aims to become the first facility focused on preventing injury and harm in aquatic environments. Through training and education in pool lifeguarding, swimming instruction, first aid, pool operations, and advanced life support, we aspire to reduce the state drowning toll by 50% by 2020.
The Royal Life Saving Aquatic Academy - Denistone East looks forward to the community's support in achieving our goals and creating a safer aquatic environment for all.
