Welcome to the Royal Anglesey Yacht Club, based in the picturesque town of Beaumaris, overlooking the Menai Strait and the stunning Snowdonia mountains on the North Wales Coast. Established in 1885, we are a family-friendly yacht club with a rich history, having been granted the Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria.
At the Royal Anglesey Yacht Club, we take pride in our strong fleet of Conwy Fife One Design and Menai Strait One Design boats, which are unique to our club. Regular racing events are held throughout summer, providing exciting opportunities for our members to showcase their sailing skills. Additionally, we are delighted to welcome the Bangor University Sailing team, who race Firefly dinghies from our club during winter.
In addition to our sailing activities, we are also home to Beaumaris Rowing Club, where members enjoy the thrill of sea rowing on the Menai Strait. Our rowing club often participates in rowing events held elsewhere in Wales, showcasing our dedication to promoting rowing as a sport.
We extend a warm invitation to new members to join us both on and off the water. Whether you are interested in sailing, rowing, or simply attending social events, we have something for everyone. Our club offers youth training sessions in both sailing and rowing on a regular basis, providing opportunities for young enthusiasts to develop their skills and passion for these sports.
The Royal Anglesey Yacht Club is also a Recognised Training Centre of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), offering a variety of training courses. Some courses we currently offer include RYA Powerboat 1 and 2, as well as Safety Powerboat training. We also provide RYA VHF, First Aid, Day Skipper Theory, Yacht Master Theory, and Dinghy Sailing courses. We are continuously expanding our course offerings, so keep an eye on our training page for the latest updates.
