F. C. , established in 1888, is one of the oldest football clubs in New Zealand. With a rich history and strong community support, Roslyn Wakari AFC has grown to become one of the largest soccer clubs in the South Island, boasting over 700 players.
At Roslyn Wakari AFC, the objective is to promote the enjoyment of playing football across all ages and provide footballing opportunities for the local community. The club offers player, coaching, refereeing, administration, and supporter opportunities for all its members. With teams competing in every grade of the Dunedin competitions, there is a place for everyone at Roslyn Wakari AFC.
The clubrooms at Roslyn Wakari AFC are the perfect venue for various functions and events. From birthdays and weddings to business conferences and training days, the versatile space can be tailored to meet your needs. Equipped with amenities like TVs for displays and presentations, kitchen facilities, and a full bar if desired, the clubrooms provide everything required for a successful event. The cosy space features a dance floor and lights, accommodating up to 100 people.
For larger gatherings, the venue can be extended into the spacious gym hall, tripling the capacity.
Located at Ellis Park, Roslyn Wakari AFC has three competition grounds, two specialist training areas, and an indoor gymnasium. The clubrooms were refurbished in 2010 and now boast a first-class bar and food facilities available for hire. The club has plans for further facilities expansion and improvement, with the immediate short-term goal being the rebuilding of vastly improved changing rooms.
Roslyn Wakari AFC values its community and has set up its own alumni group to fund various football projects. This group brings together past players, administrators, and local businessmen who offer their expertise and experience for the benefit of the club's future.
