Diving enthusiasts, listen up! Organised by Jane, Rosehearty Dive Place in Fraserburgh is your next must-visit diving spot right here in the United Kingdom. Catering to divers of all experience levels, this site promises rich marine life and stunning underwater views.
To get there, head north on the A90 to the toll of Birness, take a left onto the A592 into Fraserburgh, then follow the A98 to Rosehearty. Park at the picnic site on North Street, just past the old RAF lookout tower — a perfect spot for a surface interval if you're doing multiple dives.
With a maximum depth of 22 metres, you can dive at most tide levels, though low tides make exiting tricky. The access path is a rugged rock and boulder terrain, with the main entry and exit point being the gully. Slip into the gully, descend to 7–8 metres, and enter a North-South channel. Natural steps at the end of the gully make for an easy exit, except during low spring tides.
Underwater, explore three swim-throughs northeast of the entry point. Follow the rock faces, with the Pinnacle being a popular route. Exit the first gully, head northwest to find two pipes on the seabed, then follow a rock face west to a small boulder-filled gully. Explore the gully and retrace your path to find more boulders teeming with wrasse.
For air and nitrox fills, contact the Orca Dive Club via their Facebook page. Be aware of rough rocky access and challenging exits when there's a swell. Always assess conditions before diving.
Need a place to stay? Consider the Davron Hotel nearby. For a pint, check out Masons Arms or the Bay Hotel in the main square. Unfortunately, there are no nearby cafés, so pack your own snacks.
