The Renshinkai School of Karate in Edmonton, known for its Uechi-ryu Karate-do style, offers classes for kids starting at 5 years of age, up to adults. The school prides itself on being a welcoming environment that does not require students to have special athletic ability or prior experience in martial arts. Classes are held at the Parkview Community Hall on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from September to June. New students are welcome to join at any time throughout the year, with terms running from September to December, January to April, and May to June.
Before committing to classes, new students are encouraged to participate in 4 trial classes at no cost. To officially register, students must complete the 2023-24 registration form, as well as a release waiver. Tuition fees for each term are $350. 00, with Term 3 costing $175.

The school is led by experienced instructors, including Sensei Dave Chow, a 5th Degree Black Belt with over 30 years of experience. Sensei Doug Gibson, a 2nd Degree Black Belt, leads the Adult Classes, while Sensei Dylan Norton, a 1st Degree Black Belt, heads the Kids Classes. The instructors aim to pass on the traditions and knowledge of their Sensei, fostering a community that is proud, connected, inclusive, and fun through the practice of Karate.
