But Imogen is happy to assist anyone who may need help. The room is equipped with a sound system for playing ambient music and there is a diffuser for essential oils to create a relaxing atmosphere. Additionally, there is a hammock available for those who want to take their relaxation to the next level.
Imogen's class format focuses on guided movement and meditation to promote relaxation and connexion with the body and internal experiences. The classes are beginner-friendly and aim to challenge the students while meeting them at their current level. With a maximum of 5 people in each class, there is a comfortable and intimate atmosphere that allows for plenty of interaction between the students and the teacher. The small class size also means that students have access to an extensive selection of teas to enjoy.
Imogen's class sequences draw inspiration from notable yoga practitioners such as Julie Martin, Donna Farhi, and Svastha yoga. She incorporates a mixture of intuitive somatic movement, restorative postures, and traditional yoga poses that can be adapted to suit the students' needs and abilities. Props are used as standard, and modifications are always provided for each posture. Imogen asks that students disclose any injuries or relevant conditions at the beginning of the class so that she can customise the practise accordingly.
Each class begins with a grounding check-in to bring the students into a state of calm. The class then progresses through gentle movements that aim to build strength and encourage individual exploration. Depending on various factors like seasonal themes and weather, the class format may vary, allowing for creativity and spontaneity. Classes typically conclude with guided breathwork, relaxation, and meditation.
Imogen hopes that students will feel empowered enough to bring the techniques they learn in class into their regular home practise.
The pricing options at Release. Relax are flexible to accommodate different needs. First-time attendees can enjoy their first class for only 5. There is also an 8-class pass available for 48 (6 per class) that is valid for up to 3 months.

Imogen discovered her passion for yoga and somatic movement as a teenager when she started attending classes with her mother. Over the past 14 years, she has explored various styles of yoga but struggled to find the perfect fit. After moving to Manchester in 2015, she underwent a 200-hour teacher training with Yogacampus in 2018 and found inspiration in the teachings of Jane Craggs, Louise Tanner, and Karen Hadgett. These experienced yoga practitioners have deeply influenced Imogen's approach to yoga and her permissive and knowledgeable teaching style.
The space where Release. Relax classes take place is a bright room with high ceilings and interesting features. The ambiance is enhanced by ambient lighting and candles. The room is equipped with plenty of props to support the practise.
With a maximum capacity of 5 people, the class size remains intimate and allows for individual attention and guidance. There are steps to access the front door, but Imogen is more than willing to assist those who may need help.
In conclusion, Release. Relax offers a nurturing and inclusive environment for individuals of all levels to explore the benefits of yoga and somatic movement. Imogen's teaching style prioritises relaxation, mindfulness, and adaptability, ensuring that each student feels supported and empowered throughout their practise.
