Caz Dickinson wants to share some exciting news about Razzamataz Theatre Schools West Cumbria. You might already know that this school, located in Whitehaven, has been around since 2002, offering dance, drama, and performing arts classes for kids aged 2 to 18. What makes it special is that they manage to keep prices affordable while maintaining high-quality tuition.
Caz is thrilled to say that Razzamataz West Cumbria has received some pretty impressive recognition over the years. In 2022, they won the Community Award from the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) North West group and were even invited to the FSB finals in Glasgow. They were also named 'One to Watch' in 2019 and grabbed the 'Rebecca Rennie Outstanding Achievement Award' in 2016 and 2015. Back in 2012, they were also recognised as Franchisee of the Year. All these awards highlight the hard work and passion that both the students and the teaching team bring to the table.
Caz and the team are really proud of how involved the school is with the local community. The students often perform at venues such as The Carnegie Theatre, Dunmail Park, Rosehill Theatre, and the Workington Hub. Their West End Teams have had the amazing chance to perform at Her Majesty’s Theatre, where Phantom of the Opera is staged, and at the Shaftesbury Theatre, home of “& Juliet,” in December 2022. Plus, they've showcased their talents at Disneyland Paris during its 25th Anniversary celebrations.
One thing Caz is particularly proud of is the top-tier training the students receive. Industry pros visit the school regularly, including Carl Tracey from Nickelodeon and various TV producers and West End professionals. The success stories are quite impressive too. For example, Peter Reid, an Egremont-born graduate, has starred in West End hits like Hamilton and Matilda.
At Razzamataz West Cumbria, the focus is on the whole development of the students. They aim to boost creativity, confidence, and a passion for performing arts. The classes offered include dance, drama, singing, and musical theatre, tailored to fit each student’s needs and interests. With a commitment to excellence and plenty of fantastic performance opportunities, Razzamataz West Cumbria continues to be a vibrant community for young performers.
Caz can’t wait to see what the future holds for this talented group!
