Sifu Ian Protheroe has over 38 years of experience in martial arts and is highly respected within the Wing Chun community. He started his martial training at a young age and gradually transitioned into Wing Chun in the early 1980s. To further enhance his knowledge and skills, Sifu Protheroe regularly travels to Hong Kong to learn from the most knowledgeable Masters of Wing Chun.
As an internationally recognised instructor, Sifu Protheroe holds several positions within the martial arts community. He has been a permanent member of the Ving Tsun Athletic Association in Kowloon since 1991, which is the representative body for Wing Chun worldwide. Additionally, he has served as the State Chairman for the Federation of Australian Kung Fu Organisations and the Kung Fu Advisor to the Australian Martial Arts Association.
At Queensland Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy, students have the opportunity to learn various aspects of Wing Chun, including light sparring, Chi Sao/Chin Na, and Stance Breaking.
